Fits the Grand Cherokee perfectly and gives easy access to the back. One drawback- I lock my carrier into the receiver but to reach the lock I have to drop the carrier. Can't reach the lock when the carrier is folded up. On the major plus side, I have a Swagman towing rack for my bikes. That rack fits over the tube of the cargo carrier. I can have both mounted at the same time. Gives me extra space for my gear on the cargo carrier and can haul my bikes as well. The bikes ride right above the gear. Perfect. I do wish the cargo carrier came with a plug for the outside point of the tube. Would like to keep water out and avoid rust. Need to search for a plug.

The basket will not fold up as it hits the bottom of the spare tire. Oh, and the tail gate will not swing open as the tire hits the basket.
Other than that, it's a great item. -
Very sturdy cargo tray. Well designed and easy to assemble. Being able to flip up the tray was a major selling point for us. The folding shank makes the tray shake a little more than a solid shank when driving but doesn't affect the solidness. Some tips - use something like "household goop" ( liquid rubber in a tube) to coat all nuts and bolts and any places joints meet for extra protection against corrosion I also sprayed on a protective clear coat to add another layer of corrosion protection to the quality finish from the factory. I did this mostly for trips to marine environments. The only negative,which is to be expected, is the weight. Overall I am extremely satisfied with its quality for the price.
